(Water Resources and Hydrology- Oct. 20)

The Session covering the topic of “Water Resources and Hydrology” was hosted by M. H. Hsu & Chen Ji in Room 113 in the afternoon on October 20th. Prof. A. D. Gupta (Thailand) and Professor Zhang Xingnan (China) each gave an invited lecture respectively titled "Optimization Techniques in Reservoir Operation and Application" and "The Distributed Xinanjiang Hydrological Model.”

Ahsan amimul，Wu Xiaoling ，Sang Ug Kim，A. D. Gupta, Ahmed Hassan，S. B. Charhate, and David Stephenson all gave oral presentations respectively titled: (1) Vaporativity and productivity of new tubular solar still; (2) Distribution of system deviation in real time correction of hydraulic model combing with Kalman filter; (3) Regional low flow frequency analysis using Bayesian regression and prediction at Ungauged Catchment in Korea; (4) Education and research in water science and engineering in a changing global environment; (5) Distributed water balance model in watershed coupling with river dynamic flow routing method; (6) Genetic programming to forecast stream flow; and (7) Environmental releases in arid areas.
