The 16th APD
Congress and 3rd ISHS are organized by Hohai University(http: //www.hhu.edu.cn)
in cooperation with the Asia and Pacific Division of IAHR and the
IAHR Hydraulic Structures Section. Hohai University is one of the
key universities under the Ministry of Education of China, with the
disciplines in water resources as its distinctive feature. Hohai
University was founded as Hohai Civil Engineering School in 1915 and
was known as the East China Technical University of Water Resources
from 1952 to 1985. Hohai University consists of 13 colleges and 3
state key disciplines, among which the disciplines of water
resources engineering and civil engineering rank among the best in
China.
The Congress and
Symposium will be sponsored by several agencies within the country
and abroad. The Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute, the Chinese
Society of Hydraulic Engineering, the Chinese Society of
Hydroelectric Engineering, China Three Gorges Development
Corporation and China Office of Water Transfer from-South-to-North
as well as Jiangsu Provincial Government will be co-sponsors of
these Conferences.
